Casino Poker: Let it Ride Poker

Let It Ride poker is a casino poker game, as well as Caribbean poker, Three Card poker and Red Dog poker. Unlike traditional poker, most casino poker games are not played against other players at the table, but individually against the dealer. So, no matter how many players there are, if you beat the dealer, you win, regardless of what cards other players have.

Let It Ride, however, is an exception. It is not played against anyone, but against the pay-table. A player must not beat any hands, but to have a hand that is higher or equal to the lowest payable hand to win money. If the player has a lower hand, he loses. The minimum payable hand in a common Let It Ride poker game is a pair of tens.

The most original feature of Let It Ride poker is an option to take back two thirds of the original bet. This is done in the following manner: A player places three equal bets in the beginning of the game, and in the first and as the cards are dealt, he can remove one bet in each of two rounds. The remaining bets are kept in play and are paid according to the pay-table or lost.

Let It Ride poker is a community poker game, meaning that two cards dealt in the center of the table are used by all players at the table together with the three personal cards these each player has to form the final hand.

Three personal cards are dealt in the beginning of the game. Two community cards are also dealt, but are placed face-down in the center of the table. After this happens, players get an option to remove one of their bets, or let it ride. When they make their decision, one community card is turned face-up. At this stage player can remove or keep their second bet. After this is done, the second community card is turned face-up and the game ends.

If a player has a pair of tens or a better hand, he wins and is paid according to the hand he has. Otherwise he loses. Standard pay-table for Let It Ride poker is the following:

  • Pair of Tens or a higher Pair: 1:1
  • Two Pair: 2:1
  • Three of a Kind: 3:1
  • Straight: 5:1
  • Flush: 8:1
  • Full House: 11:1
  • Four of a Kind: 50:1
  • Straight Flush: 200:1
  • Royal Flush: 1000:1
